Genshin Impact recently received a new patch 4.0 that brings a host of changes to the game, such as the introduction of the Fontaine region along with new characters such as Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. As with every update, the game’s file size has increased drastically even for the mobile version of the game running on iOS and Android. This game introduces several new elements such as underwater mechanics and combat along with the regular event and equipment updates. Let's take a look at how the 4.0 update has affected the file size.

Genshin Impact File Size for PC

After the latest patch 4.0 patch, Genshin Impact takes up a whopping 82.8 GB for PC. The size of the update can be anywhere between 32 to 34.2 GB so if you are a new user, make sure you have at least 150GB of space before installing the game with all of its voice packs. Here are the requirements you need to meet:

Recommended requirements:

  • OS - Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit, or Windows 10 64 bit

  • Processor - Intel Core i7 equivalent (AMD Ryzen 7) or better

  • Memory - 16GB RAM

  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and better

  • DirectX Version 11

  • Storage - 100 GB hard drive space 

Minimum Requirements:

  • OS - Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit, or Windows 10 64 bit

  • Processor - Intel Core i5 equivalent (AMD Ryzen 5) or better

  • Memory - 8GB RAM

  • Storage - 100GB hard drive space

Genshin Impact File Size for Playstation

Similar to the PC version, you need to have at least 100GB of free space to install the game on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. 

Genshin Impact file for iOS and Android

The 4.0 update will take up at least 8.1 to 10.8 GB on both iOS and Android. Players who are installing the game for the first time will require at least 30GB of free space.

Minimum Requirements for Android:

  • Must be compatible with ARMv8 64-bit

  • RAM: 4GB or more

  • Operating System: Android 8.0 and above

  • Storage Space: 30 GB of available space or more

Recommended Requirements for Android:

  • CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, Kirin 820 or above

  • RAM: 6 GB or more

  • Operating System: Android 11.0 and above

  • Storage Space: 30 GB of available storage space or more

iOS devices capable of running iOS 11.0 or above will run the game. However, Bluetooth Controller Support requires you to have iOS 14 and above.
