Hoyoverse’s Genshin Impact is available on a variety of platforms such as the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and Windows. This action RPG offers a dynamic playstyle that can keep you immersed for hours and the use of a controller would definitely add to the captivation due to its haptic feedback. Since the game is supported on a variety of platforms, you might be wondering about the game’s support for controllers. Yes, the game does support the use of controllers natively on iOS and Windows and of course, on the PlayStation. Let us run through the steps required to use them for Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact Controller Support for PC
As mentioned above, Genshin Impact supports controller support on iOS and PC. Apart from using an Xbox and a PlayStation controller, the game allows you to play the game on any controller as long as your system can detect it. As fun as it sounds, there is no way to play the game with a Nintendo Switch Joycon just yet.
To play the game with a controller, all you need to do is simply plug in or connect it via Bluetooth if it is supported. Launch the game and navigate to the settings menu. If you can see the option for a controller, it means that the game has already detected your device. From there, head to the controller tab which lets you remap your controls, change sensitivity settings, etc.
Genshin Impact Controller Support for iOS
For Apple users, the game allows you to natively use a select list of controllers, provided your device is running on iOS 14 and above. These are the supported controllers:
Xbox Wireless Controller (Bluetooth)
PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless controller
MiFi Bluetooth controllers
Razer Kishi
Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2
You must also make sure to head into settings and tap on control type. Using the drop-down menu, select controller instead of touchscreen. Keep in mind that you will have to do this every time you connect a controller to your iOS device. Thankfully the process is not very tedious.
Genshin Impact Controller Support for Android
The game does not have native support for a controller yet, however, you can work your way around it by the use of third-party mapping software such as the Mantis Gamepad Pro or Razer’s Virtual Controller.
Once you get through Paimon’s tutorial, tap on the gear icon to open the settings menu
Navigate to controls
Change the control type from touchscreen to controller in the dropdown menu
We suggest you use Razer’s Virtual controller as it makes the process simple and intuitive.
