Highlights
Here is what we know about upcoming characters in Genshin Impact patch 3.9 and beyond.
There will be no patch 3.9 in Genshin Impact and we will head straight to 4.0, which coincides with the release of Fontaine.
We can expect Hoyoverse to drop teasers about new characters on or after 5th July.

Genshin Impact 3.8 is about to kick off on 5th July and players are excited to see what Hoyoverse has planned for future patches. If you are waiting for Genshin Impact 3.9 banners, it’s time to get bamboozled because there is no patch 3.9. This is a recurring trend as Hoyoverse has been introducing regions with fresh patch numbers. Inazuma was introduced with patch 2.0, Sumeru was introduced with patch 3.0 and now we will get Fontaine with the release of patch 4.0.

We will skip Genshin Impact patch 3.9 and head straight to 4.0 for Fontaine

There is a list of characters that were leaked in the recent past and we also got an official glimpse at some of the upcoming characters including Lyney, Lynette, Charlotte, Arlecchino and a few others. While there is no Genshin Impact patch 3.9 to look forward to, we can expect Lyney to debut in patch 4.0 along with Yelan and Tartaglia (Childe) as the rerun characters according to leaks.

  • Lyney: Five-star Pyro Bow character

  • Lynette: Four-star Anemo Sword character

  • Freminet: Four-star Cryo Claymore character

  • Wriothesley: Five-star Cryo Polearm character

  • Neuvilette: Five-star Hydro Catalyst character

  • Charlotte: Four-star Cryo Catalyst character

  • Furina: Five-star Hydro Sword character

  • Waghild: Five-star Hydro character

  • M: Four-star unknown character

  • Sertice: Four-star Sword character

  • Clorinde: Five-star unknown character

  • Navia: Five-star Geo character

  • Dahlia: Four-star Hydro Catalyst character

  • Lion Dance: Four-star unknown character

  • Chiori: Five-star unknown character

  • Mummy Girl: Four-star Hydro Bow character

  • Arlecchino: Five-star Pyro Sword character

  • Skirk: Unknown rarity Sword character

It is a surprise that we might get just one new 5-star character in Fontaine’s debut patch but it is something that occurred last year as well. In patch 3.0 we got Tighnari as the only new 5-star character while Dori and Collei were new 4-star units who made their debut at the time.

Some of the more anticipated characters might not debut until patch 4.1 or later so you have some time to save up for characters like the Hydro Archon, Arlecchino and Clorinde.
