Clorinde aka Captain R is an upcoming character in Genshin Impact who was leaked months ahead of her first official appearance. She was present in the Overture Teaser: The Final Feast video that Hoyoverse dropped on 3rd July. Fans were instantly captivated by her design and many felt that she is reminiscent of Lady Maria from Bloodborne. Who is Clorinde in Genshin Impact?
Clorinde may be named after one of several French naval vessels named Clorinde, most of which were from the first half of the 19th century, which is around the timeframe Fontaine takes inspiration from.
She will be involved in the Fontaine archon quest and leakers have stated that Clorinde will play an important role in the story. In the recent Final Feast video, she was seen with Neuvillette, who is the Grand Judge of Fontaine.
Over 20 variants of her design have been datamined in recent months but we have no information regarding her kit yet. She seems to be wielding a sword and has the Electro vision. Leakers have stated that she is in very early stages of development so we might have to wait a long time until she is introduced as a playable character in the game.

When will Clorinde release in Genshin Impact?
We are likely to meet Clorinde in the Fontaine storyline when patch 4.0 drops but she will not be available until at least patch 4.1. According to leaks, Lyney is the only new 5-star character who will come in patch 4.0 along with a couple of other new 4-star characters.
