Favors are a mechanic present in Payday games and can be spotted in Payday 3 as well. However, this time around, Favors in Payday 3 play a slightly different role. Favors help you make your heists smoother with some extra buffs like ammo, medical supplies and armor. Let’s look at what are Favors in Payday 3 and how they have changed since earlier versions of the game.
What are Favors in Payday 3?
There are two types of Favors in Payday 3; General Favors and heist-specific Favors. General Favors can be used in any heist and are overall buffs which will benefit any play style. These Favors can be purchased and selected in the heist lobby where you select your loadout and ready up. There are four favor slots, called ‘Assets’ in the game.
Each player gets to select a Favor and you get to see your team’s selection here so there is no overlap. Currently there are four general Favors available in Payday 3:
Ammo Bag - Spawns a bag of extra ammunition supplies.
Medic Bag - Spawns a bag of medical supplies to heal missing health.
Armor Bag - Spawns a bag of armor plates to replenish your damaged stock.
Zipline Bag - Spawns a zipline that players can use to make a quick escape.
Each Favor will set you back $10,000 each and can be purchased from vendors. You will have to scroll all the way down to Gage: Arms Dealer. You can buy as many Favors as you want at one time. However, you can only equip one for each heist.
What are heist-specific Favors in Payday 3?
Heist-Specific Favors cannot be purchased like the others. There seems to be some element of RNG involved in heist-specific favors. At times when you enter a heist lobby, you’ll see a favor in your list that mentions the specific heist by name. These Favors provide additional support for a number of heists. For example, you may see an option to be told the location of certain items, like keycards or QR codes before the heist begins. As of now, the developer has not confirmed anything about when these specific Favors appear. It appears these heist-specific Favors are randomly awarded to players. That’s all you need to know about favors in the new game. Payday 3 was released on 21st September 2023 and is currently available on the PC, Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5.
