Allays
These unique creatures have the ability to fetch various items for you. This fairy-like mob can specifically be found in Woodland Mansions and Pillager Outposts with them being the most common in the latter. You do not need to tame these creatures with food, as simply giving a specific item to them will tie the mob with you. Once you give it a specific item, an Allay will search your vicinity and bring you the same exact item if it is found there. They are one of the most loved mobs, due to their ability to farm specific resources.
Axolotls
Axolotls are predators which attack most other ocean-dwelling mobs except Dolphins and they can become useful allies, especially when you are dealing with Elder Guardians inside monuments found in the ocean. Although you cannot fully tame them, they can be directed with a lead made of String and Slime balls, and they can also be bred with a bucket of tropical fish. Keep in mind that they can be killed by Puffer fishes, so keep them in a separate tank.
Horses
This is essentially the bread and butter of all tameable animals in the game. You can reach your destination in a very short duration, provided you pick the fastest horse available. They are mostly found in plains and can be tamed by using a variety of food items such as Apple, Wheat, Sugar, Hay Bales, Golden Carrots, etc. Furthermore, you can also equip them with armor, which means they’ll come in handy during combat.
Donkeys
They basically address the downsides of using Horses and can be considered as a jack of all trades due to their versatility. Once tamed, they can be used as mobile storage units due to their ability to hold chests. They usually spawn in groups in biomes like the plains, savanna and the meadows. Overall, they can be solid companions if your main goal is to mine and store resources and you do not mind sacrificing a bit of pace.
Cats
Although Ocelots were the original way of obtaining a feline pet in the game, the addition of stray cats is a boon if you consider yourself a cat lover. Players can access over 11 different breeds of cats, each with their own distinct colors. These felines will often become loyal companions similar to Wolves, and will protect your land from hostile mobs. They are usually found in most biomes near villages or swamp huts and can be tamed by using Raw Cod and Salmon.
