Minecraft Legends Introduces One of Its Biggest Updates: New Mobs, Gameplay Features, and More

Mojang Studios released Minecraft Legends this April as a spin-off title building upon the core elements of their creative sandbox. It emphasizes action and strategy where players take on the role of a legendary hero who is tasked with defending the Overworld, an Earth-like realm from the invasion of evil Piglins belonging to the Nether dimension.
The title recently received its biggest update yet, further developing its storyline and adding a layer of complexity to its gameplay. Players can now team up with potion-wielding witches and face new types of enemies allowing them to partake in more immersive battles. This update also brings numerous quality-of-life changes and bug fixes to enhance your Minecraft Legends experience. Here’s everything you need to know.
What Are All the New Mobs Added to Minecraft Legends?
The Fearless Frog
The fearless frog is a friendly mob that makes vertical traversal an easy task, thanks to its ability to jump twice as high as any other mount in the game. You also take significantly lesser fall damage but beware, as it will not save you if you jump from a cliff or a mountaintop. It can also swim much faster which will help you cover large distances in a short time, creating more space for exploration.
The Clanger
This new enemy is a tall, slim, and agile Piglin which adds a new layer of challenge to combat. It is equipped with a “battle cymbal” that causes auditory chaos, resulting in you and your friends being stunned and knocked back. Although their damage rates are low, they can be frustrating to deal with, when they are in groups, so make sure to use effective strategies when dealing with the Clangers.
The Air Chopper
This contraption was added to the arsenal of Piglins to pollute the Overworld with spores. As the name suggests, it blows out air using chopper-like wings which knock you back and damage you with spores. Defeating them would require serious teamwork, especially if they are backed up by a Piglin horde.
New Gameplay Features Present in Minecraft Legends
Apart from the newly added characters, one major gameplay change seems to be in the form of Witches, who are also frustrated with the Piglins attacking their homes and friends. Weirdly, they will now eagerly team up with you, provided you help them get rid of these creatures from the Nether realm.
Setting aside your differences and teaming up with them will grant you a potent ally that can throw potions and deal poison damage to your enemies. You will also have access to Cauldrons that increase the damage output of your allies along with adding a knockback effect. It automatically applies as long as your friendly mobs are inside its “aura”. This buff will last for 20 seconds even after they have left the active zone of the Cauldron.
What Other Improvements Does This Update Bring to Minecraft Legends?
Apart from the addition of new mobs and changes to its narrative, you also have new custom game settings that allow you to customize things like knockback resistance, world seeds, mob density, hazard damage, and more. The PvP mode has also seen balancing changes along with faster queue times and matchmaking.
