Given the critical acclaim received by Tekken 7, fans are hyped as the Tekken 8 release date draws closer. Here is all you need to know about the Tekken 8 Release Date, platforms and more.

What is the Tekken 8 release date?

The Tekken 8 release date is set for Friday, 26th January 26, 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. This was announced during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. The developer also revealed during the time that the game was being developed in Unreal Engine 5 from scratch.

Tekken 8 versions and preorder bonuses

Tekken 8 will include a pre-order bonus of Paul Phoenix avatar costume for the Arcade Quest mode across all platforms and the Mokujin and Tetsujin avatar costumes as PlayStation exclusives.

The game also comes in a Deluxe edition which includes the Playable Character Year 1 pass, giving players four additional characters post-launch. It also includes the Kinjin avatar skin, and a Gold Suit pack compatible with all 32 characters. The Ultimate edition includes all of the above, avatar skins for Kazuya, Jin, and Jun, and 32 t-shirt patterns to personalize your avatars with. The Deluxe edition has also included the Tekken 8 beta which began on 20th October and lasted for three days till 23rd October. The Closed Beta test includes the same character roster as the Closed Network Test, as well as Raven, Azucena, and Feng. A Closed Network test on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox was conducted earlier this year in July 2023.

Tekken 8 features

Tekken 8 is set to have 32 fighters with “next-gen visuals”. The roster includes popular fighters like Paul Phoenix, King, Marshall Law, and Nina Williams, and sees the return of Raven after last being part of the story of Tekken 6. The game will continue the tragic saga of the Mishima and Kazama bloodlines and their world-shaking father-and-son grudge matches. In this latest chapter, Jin Kazama will seek to defy his fate as he faces his father Kazuya Mishima causing war and destruction across the globe.

Bandai Namco is also adding an all-new game mechanic called the “Heat System”, giving players the ability to harness aggressiveness as a tactic and incorporate offensive attacks into their playstyle, with special movements and character abilities based on each character’s unique features. Staples such as “Rage Arts” and the series’ signature moves and combos make their return to the game as well.
