As Numerous fans are eagerly waiting for the announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), Rockstar Games has supposedly begun making changes to its website, starting with the Social Club, which essentially serves as a social media platform where you can share in-game images and other game data with your friends.
Although there has been no official word from the studio, numerous leakers and data miners are speculating that the developer might launch a new platform as a better alternative to its long-established Social Club. Here’s everything we know so far.
Social Club Has Been Renamed as Rockstar Games Platform
As mentioned above, Rockstar’s social club essentially serves as a platform for players to connect with each other, manage their accounts, track their progress in various Rockstar titles, share player stats, and share in-game images. This has been an integral part of GTA Online as a social club account is necessary to access it.
That being said, an unofficial Rockstar news leaker who goes by @videotechuk_ made a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) stating that Rockstar Games are supposedly planning on launching a new platform which is expected to provide a major overhaul to the features present in the social club.
As seen above, the studio has presumably renamed “Social Club” to “Rockstar Games Platform” and this seems to continue with every sentence, essentially replacing any reference to their existing platform with the new naming scheme. Although not every change is currently reflected on their official social club site, we can see that some words have already been replaced.
One among them is “Join over 200 million members worldwide on the official Rockstar Games platform to enhance and extend your gaming experience.” which used to say “Join over 100 million social club members worldwide on the official Rockstar Games platform to enhance and extend your gaming experience”
Apart from the renaming, there has been no other significant difference in the social club’s layout. It still seems to contain the same aforementioned features which means these changes have no impact on GTA or Red Dead Online players who access it regularly.
Although Rockstar has not made any official announcements, many fans are wondering about the potential improvements it could bring to the table as this new platform will most likely be incorporated into Grand Theft Auto 6 and its potential online mode. With December still a week away, many are highly anticipating the upcoming game’s announcement, and such subtle changes certainly seem to hype them up even more.
