Highlights
Leveling up in Scarlet and Violet requires you to participate in numerous activities that the game presents such as battling trainers, capturing wild Pokemon, etc.
Collecting Exp. Candy and Hunting down Chansley and Blissey is your best bet to faster XP gain, at least in the initial phase of the game.
Participating in an Academy Ace Tournament requires you to beat the main quest and defeat all 8 gym leaders.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been out for a while now and players are still enjoying the game’s various RPG and open-world elements along with DLCs like Teal Mask and Indigo Disk. Although every player has their own ways of farming XP and leveling up their Pokemon, we have made a note of the most effective methods you can employ to quickly gain XP from the beginning all the way to the end phase of the game. Without further ado, let’s delve into it.

Methods to Quickly Farm XP in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

There are numerous ways to quickly earn XP in Scarlet and Violet. They are:

1. Participate in Tera Raid Battles for Exp. Candy

You can find such battles by observing the colorful stars with elemental symbols inside them on the Paldea map. You can also use the Poke Portal feature to search for an Online Tera Raid.

Although these raids do not grant much XP initially, you will receive candy that can significantly raise the level of your Pokemon. There are four different types of Candy:

  • Exp. Candy XL: Grants 30,000 XP to a Pokemon

  • Exp. Candy L:  Grants 10,000 XP to a Pokemon

  • Exp. Candy M: Grants 3,000 XP to a Pokemon

  • Exp. Candy S: Grants 800 XP to a Pokemon

  • Exp. Candy XS: Grants 100XP to a Pokemon

Using Candy might be the easiest and most intuitive way to level up your Pokemon, at least at the beginning phase. While you will receive XP boosts from High tier Tera Raids you cannot access 6 or 7-star raids until you have finished the post-game story.

2. Make Use of EXP Share

At the beginning, the permanent EXP share feature will mean that the level-up points are shared between all the Pokemon in your party. So if you have a low-tier Pokemon, adding it to the party means you can quickly level up by deploying it at the beginning and immediately swapping it out.

3. Hunting Down Chansley and Blissey

Similar to other titles in the series, defeating Chansley and Blissey will give you more XP than if you were to eliminate other Pokemon. You will find an abundance of them in the North Province which is Area Three. Keep in mind that you might have to use a Ham Sandwich or an Ultra Curry-and-Rice-Style Sandwich to spawn them.

4. Using a Lucky Egg

This in-game item can be extremely potent when it comes to boosting the XP of a specific Pokemon. This will work when the Pokemon is an active party member wherein it must participate in battles against trainers and wild Pokemon. You will be granted your first egg when you meet Jacq in the 6th Pokemon Gym.

5. Participate and Win Academy Ace Tournaments

If you have made it past the main campaign of Scarlet and Violet, you will no longer benefit from using obvious methods like battling trainers, catching wild Pokemon, and such. Once you reach this point, winning the Academy Ace Tournament will be the best post-game method to farm XP. You will be pitted against four opponents of similar difficulty and the best part is that there is no limit to the number of times you can partake in the tournament. You will also receive sufficient money to upgrade your Pokemon by purchasing expensive training items.
