Here is all you need to know about the Pokemon Go Redemption Code Changes.

Pokemon Go Redemption Code changes have switched up how Android users can redeem codes in the mobile game. Previously, redemption codes could be redeemed from an in-game menu. However, with the new changes players will need to go to the Pokemon Go Web Store to claim code rewards. Niantic announced the change with an entry on the official Pokemon Go Niantic blog. Here is all you need to know about the Pokemon Go Redemption Code Changes.

Pokemon Go Changing How Android Users Can Redeem Codes

Starting 13th February 2024, Pokemon Go players on Android will no longer be able to redeem codes directly through the app. Players will have to go to the Pokemon Go Web Store to input the codes and redeem them. Niantic also said, “Trainers with Pokémon Trainer Club (PTC) accounts can redeem offers by linking their Pokémon GO account to another login provider, which they can use to log in to the web store.” While the developer hopes this change will be “an easy transition for Trainers and will provide a one-stop shop for everyone,” some players are not happy about the change, expressing their frustration online.

The previous system allowing players to redeem codes without leaving the app was more convenient, leaving several players unhappy about the change. Players using iOS devices did not previously have the option to redeem codes through the app and would have to go through the official Pokemon Go Web Store page. With these changes, Android users will have to do the same. Niantic has not divulged why it is making these changes.

This isn’t the first time Niantic has received backlash for changes. Remote Raid Passes were introduced to Pokemon Go in 2020 as a way to let players keep participating in battles even during the lockdowns when they couldn’t be physically present at gyms. The developer later announced it had plans to phase out free remote raid passes. This was met with a lot of community backlash with many threatening to boycott the game if Remote Passes were ever disabled.

How to Redeem Pokemon Go codes (February 2024)

You’ll need to take the following steps to redeem codes in Pokemon Go after the changes:

  • Visit the official Pokemon Go redemption website by clicking here.

  • Log in using the same credentials you use to access your Pokemon Go account.

  • Enter your offer code.

After successfully redeeming an offer code, a message will display the items added to your inventory.
