Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2023: Start and end dates
Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2023 launched on 19th December and will continue till 16th January 2024. While the official event will end on 9th January, the Winter Fair will continue till 16th January.
Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2023 Game Modes
Winter Wonderland 2023 brings back four Arcade game modes:
Mei’s Snowball Offensive
Snowball Deathmatch
Yeti Hunt
Freeze Flash Elimination (previously called Freezethaw Elimination)
In Mei's Snowball Offensive, players can use snowballs to take out opponents with a single blow, you'll need to use Cryo-Freeze and Ice Walls to protect yourself in order to stay in the game. If you miss, reload your shot and find new snow to vacuum up. When you launch your Ultimate and quickly fire multiple snowballs in succession, go into a frosty frenzy. Engage in a 5v5 Elimination Ruleset as a team or show off your skills as a lone snowball expert in a free-for-all Deathmatch.
Yeti Hunt is a 5v1 PVP brawl mode where a single player will play as the Yeti (Winston) to find meat scattered around the map, then go into a primal frenzy that will leave your opponents running for cover, while a team of five Mei will try to freeze, trap, and neutralize the Yeti.
Freeze-Flash Elimination is a frosty take on “freeze-tag.” In this elimination 5v5 game mode, heroes don’t get eliminated when they lose all of their health; instead, they’ll be frozen solid. It will be up to their teammates to thaw them without getting iced themselves. The team that can completely freeze the opponent team takes the round. The team to get first to three rounds wins.
