Continuing the tradition of bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC, Sony is expected to announce Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part Two (TLOU) PC Port next month. The second entry in the famous third-person zombie survival shooter series has sold over 10 million copies in 2022 and even received several Game of The Year awards, making it one of the most popular and critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusive titles. While the PS5 Remastered version of this game was released on 19th January this year, we could potentially see a PC port soon around the same time next month.
Last of Us Part Two PC Port Announcement Info Comes From Ghost of Tsushima Leaker
This information comes from the same leaker who goes by @Silknigth who accurately predicted the announcement and release date of another PlayStation exclusive called Ghost of Tsushima, which will be hitting the shelves on 16th May. Although many would expect TLOU Part Two to be released within two or three months of its announcement, the leaker claims there will be a “longer-than-usual” period between the game’s announcement and release date.
While the exact release date remains unknown, speculations arise based on past trends that the game will be launched three months from the announcement date. However, many also speculate that the PC port will go live before the release of The Last of Us TV Show’s Second Season on HBO, which is currently being filmed and is all set to be broadcast in 2025. Considering this, many leakers are sure that the game will arrive before the end of 2024.
This would be the first time that the game will be showcased on PC at all, whereas the PlayStation 5 was able to run both the original and remastered versions of the game. However, it would certainly be a sight to behold on PC, thanks to it having superior hardware.
Similar to the officially announced Ghost of Tsushima, TLOU Part Two is also expected to feature upscaling technologies like Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3, and Intel Xess, along with offering DLAA Support and Nvidia Reflex Low Latency.
Many are hoping that Sony didn’t partner up with Iron Galaxy studios who ported the TLOU Part One for PC, which was unfortunately riddled with many performance issues, receiving mostly negative reviews on Steam at the time of release. While it has been fixed now, we just have to wait and hope that the sequel gets respectable optimization on PC. Note that neither Sony nor PlayStation has officially confirmed or acknowledged this leak and it is entirely based on rumors and speculation, so please take it with a grain of salt.
