Mortal Kombat 1 Leaks Reveal New Version of Scorpion As Kameo Character

NetherRealm has been busy building on Mortal Kombat 1's cast with tons of guest fighters, and there have been several new Kameos to go with the new additions to the roster. First, we saw the arrival of Tremor not long after the debut of Incivible's Omni-Man. Then Khameleon arrived a few weeks after Quan Chi’s debut. Finally, fans saw Janet Cage's arrival, an alternative universe version of Johnny Cage, in March. With Ermac's release, players have been questioning when the next Kameo Fighter will be confirmed, and it seems like we finally have some answers. A face model who's part of the project has accidentally leaked that Harumi Hasashi, Scorpion's wife, will soon become a Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo character. Let's take a look at everything we know.

Harumi Hasashi Is the Upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo Character

One of the best features in Mortal Kombat 1 is the Kameo system, which allows players to choose a supporting character from a completely different roster to help in matches. Most of these supporting combatants are basically classic versions of the already existing characters from the game's original timeline.

New rumors suggest that the next Kameo fighter to debut in Mortal Kombat 1 will be an alternate version of Scorpion, with Harumi Hasashi taking the mantle of the legendary yellow ninja mask. The leaks come from a now-deleted Instagram post, where Jiwon Christine Ra confirmed that she'll be the face of Harumi Hasashi in Mortal Kombat 1. The Korean model also referenced MK1’s Kameo system in her post, leading many players to believe that Harumi will now become an alternate version of Scorpion, just like Janet Cage. 

However, taking this information with a grain of salt is crucial. Unlike Harumi Hasashi, Janet Cage was specially developed for MK1 story mode. Harumi is Scorpion's wife and one of the major reasons why Hanzo Hasashi decided to become Scorpion in the first place. In the franchise's new timeline, she's married to Kuai Liang, Mortal Kombat 1's Scorpion. With deep lore behind her, many people in the community are hoping that a Harumi Kameo character won't just be a basic Scorpion reskin but will come with unique abilities. All fans can do right now is wait for NetherRealm to make an official announcement. 

What's Coming For Mortal Kombat In The Future?

NetherRealm has finally treated the players with the long-awaited Ermac update and also launched Invasions Season 5. However, we still have more characters coming to the game. Takeda Takahashi and Homelander will be the next fighters joining the MK1 roster, while Ferra and Mavado are the final two Kameos planned for the game. Of course, the developers are likely to announce more characters after Kombat Pack 1 ends, but those fighters are still unknown. Takeda Takahashi is all set to release this summer, so we're likely to learn about the next set of fighters around this EVO 2024.
