Minecraft Trial Chambers are procedurally generated underground structures, bringing a new element to your mining adventures.
Here's a complete breakdown of Minecraft Trial Chambers.

Over the past few years, Mojang has worked to add more and more underground experiences in Minecraft. But with the Minecraft 1.21 update, trial chambers will add another exciting structure to your Minecraft Adventure.

Revealed during Minecraft Live 2023, the upcoming Minecraft 1.21 update aims to add new vanilla features, an automated Minecraft Crater block, and shall expand underground exploration. Trial Chambers are large underground structures you can plunder alone or with your friends to practice combat skills and earn loot.

Here’s everything you need to know about Minecraft Trial Chambers.

What Are Trial Chambers in Minecraft?

According to Mojang, Trial Chambers are hidden structures that come with a series of combat and exploration-based challenges. Inside these structures are several rooms to explore, with some leading to supply chests and others leading to more deadly results. Players can find new tuff and copper blocks. The visual style of this structure is unlike anything you’ve seen in the game before.

Trial chambers will use a new light source called ‘Copper Bulbs,’ which will emit light depending on their oxidation state.

Where Can You Find a Trial Chamber in Minecraft?

Unfortunately, we still don’t have much information about where trial chambers will be generated in Minecraft 1.21. As of now, we just know that they will be present underground and can be located while exploring caves. As soon as the snapshots are released, we’ll make sure to let you know.

Are There Mobs in Trial Chambers?

Short answer: Yes! Trial chambers are aimed toward a challenging combat experience, which means you will definitely run into mobs. For now, we know about two major mobs for trial chambers: the trial spawner and the Breeze.

Trial Spawner

This special spawner type can only be found in trial chambers. Just like a regular mob spawner, it spawns hostile mobs, but there’s a catch: it will adapt to the number of players that join the battle. If you’re playing with multiple people, get ready for a difficult fight. The trial spawner drops hints about which mobs it will spawn based on the blocks around it.

After you’ve defeated all the spawned mobs, the trial spawner will go into the cooldown state and drop loot for you in the form of diamonds and emeralds.

The Breeze

Trial spawner isn’t the only thing you’re going to face when exploring the Trial Chambers; prepare yourself for a new hostile mob called ‘The Breeze’. This new mob spawns in trial chambers and has a unique wind-controlling ability that lets it move constantly and jump between locations. Its special ranged attack, ‘wind charge,’ doesn’t deal damage, but if it bursts, it will blow things away.

What Loot Can Be Found in Trial Chambers?

Trial chambers come with various different rooms and loot chests. We still don’t know what loot these chests will hold, but we’ll update you as soon as we get more details about the Minecraft 1.21 Update!
