Fortnite
There’s no doubt that the hype for LEGO Fortnite has cooled off since its initial debut in December 2023. However, that hasn’t stopped Epic Games from slowly expanding the game mode and adding new skins and items. Today, LEGO Fortnite’s official social media channels revealed that a fishing mechanic will be introduced to the game with Update v28.30. The mechanic works similarly to what Battle Royale players see in standard matches.
LEGO Fortnite’s Brand-New Gone Fishin’ Update
The brand-new update to LEGO Fortnite allows players to craft a fishing rod and catch 15 different types of fish. Players can now catch different fish depending on the biome and weather conditions that they are in. Other new items have also been added to the game to keep up with the fishing theme. Players can create a spyglass and compass to guide them on their fishing adventures.
It’s a known fact that fishing has been a significant element in Fortnite since Chapter 2, and catching these sea animals gives players health, shields, and other buffs. This mechanic has been a solid foundation for the battle royale over many years, so it was an obvious addition to LEGO Fortnite. The Gone Fishin’ update is set to go live on 22nd February 2024, alongside the Lady Gaga event.
How Does Fishing Work in LEGO Fortnite?
To get started with Fishing, you will require a Fishing Rod. There are four different varieties you can craft. However, you’re more likely to pull fish with a higher-rarity Fishing Rod. Here’s a complete list of all the fishing rods you can craft –
Common Fishing Rod (Level 1 Crafting Bench) – You can unlock the recipe for the Common Fishing Rod by getting a Cord to your inventory.
Uncommon Fishing Rod (Level 2 Crafting Bench) – You can unlock the recipe for Uncommon Fishing Rod by getting a Knotroot Rod to your inventory.
Rare Fishing Rod (Level 3) – You can unlock the recipe for Rare Fishing Rod by getting a Flexwood Rod to your inventory.
Epic Fishing Rod (Level 4) – You can unlock the recipe for Epic Fishing Rod by getting a Frostpine Rod to your inventory.
How Many Fishes Can You Catch in LEGO Fortnite?
With the new update, there are 15 unique fish species available for players to catch. Each species offers different benefits, including HP boosts. You can also use the Food Processor to craft more seafood dishes. Here’s a complete list of all the fishes you can find in LEGO Fortnite –
