Payday 3 is the latest entry in the heist FPS (first person shooter) franchise. The game was released just a few days ago on 21st September 2023 to an initial lukewarm reception. Is Payday 3 free to play?

Payday 3 puts you in the shoes of bank robbers looking for their next big…well payday! While several developers are choosing to make their newer titles free to play, unfortunately, Payday 3 isn’t one of those titles.  Payday 3 is not free to play. You can buy the Standard edition for approximately USD $40. The game also comes in four other versions. The game also comes in a Silver, Gold and Collector’s Edition which will set you back $70, $90 and $130 respectively. The Standard edition of Payday 3 only contains the base game. The Silver edition comes with the following extra perks:

  • Play Early (3 Days)

  • Season Pass (6 months)

  • Dark Sterling mask (digital item)

Payday 3 Gold edition comes with an additional Skull of Liberty Mask and Gold Slate Gloves (digital items).

Is Payday 3 available on the Xbox Game Pass?

Fortunately, players who own the Xbox Game Pass can access Payday 3 from the pass library. Pass holders got access to the game on launch date. The developers had announced plans to release the game on the pass a while back. This means Xbox Game Pass subscribers can simply download and jump into the game without having to pay full price. The game is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Payday 2 was previously released on PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and Linux.
