Even though it has only been a few days since its release, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is rapidly climbing its way up the leaderboard to become one of the biggest titles to launch this year. This third entry into Insomniac’s series showcases dual protagonists; Peter Parker and Miles Morales, who juggle between their duty as Spider-Man and their own personal lives.
As many players continue to web-swing their way through the immersive world of Spider-Man 2, they are discovering various intricate puzzles incorporated into several of the game’s missions. Although these puzzles might provide a good challenge, they can sometimes be frustrating to deal with, as you might get stuck on a certain mission if you are unable to solve them. One such quest might be New Threads, which involves searching for clues and unlocking a secret entrance at Dr. Connors’ house. Let’s figure out how to decode this.
Here’s How You Can Solve the Puzzle at Dr. Connors’ House (Contains Spoilers)
New Threads is the 20th main mission in Spider-Man 2 which involves pursuing Dr. Connors who is in his Lizard form attempting to escape being captured by Kraven the Hunter.
As Peter, you will enter Connors’s house through a window and look for clues to track him down. The game allows you to interact with various items in the house as you keep doing so, you will find a secret keypad in the form of a screen with virtual piano keys on it. There are also circles on each of the keypad which is in an increasing order from left to right. This is located in the kitchen, next to the huge claw marks presumably left by the Lizard.
Make your way to the adjacent room which has a small children’s play area, where you will find a toy piano with the same colors as the keypad’s screen. Press Triangle on your PS5 controller and select the Barn symbol located right in the middle. You will hear a familiar tune that many will recognize - the Old McDonald jingle. As the song starts to play, the keys on the piano will light up according to the rhythm. Here’s the order:
Purple, Purple, Purple, Green, Blue, Blue, and Green.
With this newly acquired knowledge, head toward the touchscreen keypad and punch in the first four keys - Purple, Purple, Purple, and Green. Essentially, you need to press the rightmost key thrice and the leftmost key once.
After entering the key, you will notice a secret entrance opening to your left, leading you down the stairs to Dr. Connors’ underground laboratory.
