How to Migrate Your Minecraft Account to a Microsoft Account (DEADLINE: 19th September)
Minecraft publisher Mojang has issued a last call for players to transfer their Legacy and Mojang accounts to Microsoft accounts. Moving to a Microsoft account gives access to parental controls, two-factor authentication and completing the process also grants access to a free cape. The migration process only takes a couple of minutes and all of your data, including your username, progress, creations, and skins will still be there. The final date for the migration is 19th September at 11:00 AM EST/17:00 CEST so you need to complete the migration as soon as possible. If you already have a Microsoft account for Minecraft, you can ignore this post completely.
How to migrate your Minecraft account
Login to with your Mojang account and find the prompt IT’S YOUR TURN TO MOVE! on your profile page and click MOVE MY ACCOUNT. The launcher’s message about migration will also redirect you to the profile page.

Enter the code in the box shown and click SUBMIT AND START MIGRATION.
You will be prompted to create a new Microsoft account and password. Please note that you will be unable to use a work or school email address. If you already have a Microsoft account, you can sign into it instead.
You will be taken to a final screen which will prompt you to COMPLETE MOVE and provide you with a few additional details. You will also see a link allowing you to go back and create or choose a different Microsoft account at this time.
Once you have confirmed you want to complete the move, that’s all there is to it! Your Minecraft account will have been migrated to your new Microsoft account, and you will see the following confirmation message.
When you restart the launcher for the first time after migration, you may be taken to the Mojang login screen, or a screen still asking you to migrate. Please use the 'Go Back' button OR the 'X' (depending on which of the below screens you see) to get back to the login selection screen. You will then select 'Microsoft Login' to enter your new credentials.
