Dratini, the Dragon-type Pokemon has also made its way to Pokemon Go over the years. The Pokemon is an old staple of the franchise, introduced back in Generation 1. This Pokemon has two evolutions, namely Dragonair and Dragonite, which is its final form. Dratini will spawn more in the wild during the Pokemon Go Year of the Dragon celebrations. There are a couple of ways you can boost your chances of catching Dratinis in Pokemon Go.
Dratini and Dragonite in Pokemon Go
The blue, serpentine, Dratini hails from the Kanto region. The Dragon-type Pokemon was first introduced to Pokemon Go during Community Day: Dreaming of Dratini in November 2022. Dratini has two evolutions; Dragonair and Dragonite.
In Pokemon Go you can use Candy to evolve your Dratini. This Pokemon is currently available to catch in the Pokemon Go 2024 Lunar New Year Event. During the event, Dratinis will appear more frequently in the Wild.
If you want to get more Dratini Candy during the event you can use Pinap Berries which double the amount of Candy you’ll receive if your next catch attempt succeeds. Lure items and Incense is great for attracting more of these Pokemon. The more Candies you earn, the easier it will be for you to evolve your Dratini. Dratinis will also appear in 1-Star Raids happening during the Lunar New Year event.
This Dragon-type Pokemon, is weak to Dragon, Fairy, and Ice-type moves. It is strong against Electric, Fire, Grass, and Water-type attacks. So when you go in for a raid, make sure you field strong Dragon and Fairy-type Pokemon. Note that you may also catch a Shiny Dratini during the event in the Wild, as well as after Raids. It is best to use STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) moves that take advantage of your opponent's weaknesses whenever you are assembling a raid party. Once you get your hands on a Dratini, you can now evolve it into Dragonair, and Dragonite in Pokemon Go.
How to get Dragonair and Dragonite in Pokemon Go
After catching a Dratini, you can feed it 25 Candy to evolve it into a Dragonair in Pokemon Go. Dragonairs cannot be caught in the Wild, nor do they feature in any Raid battles. The only way to get one is to evolve your Dratini.
How to get Dragonite in Pokemon Go
You can get a Dragonite in Pokemon Go by feeding 100 Candy to a Dragonair. Like Dragonair, Dragonite is also not available in the Wild or in Raids.
