Highlights
Finding undiscovered and missing parts requires you to run the car through various diagnostic tools present in the game.
You might also have to manually inspect every part using the “Examination Mode”.
Purchasing a “Test Path” will also help you efficiently carry out your automotive repairs.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 is a highly realistic simulator game where you start as the new owner of a car garage and work your way up in the car service industry by gradually building your reputation among customers. To give you an idea of its realism, the game contains over 72 different cars and more than 4000 unique parts that need to be identified and fixed.

Each car requires specific components to keep it running, and while you will find most of your “parts to fix” in the initial stages of the game, you will run into a problem where the required components to fix the car will not be available. This is indicated by the “part not discovered” error. Without further ado, let’s jump right in and take a look at how to resolve this issue.

Identifying Missing or Undiscovered Parts in Car Mechanic Simulator 2021

Initially, it might be pretty confusing to identify these missing or undiscovered parts, thankfully there are a few steps that you can use to find them. The first is by making use of the five different diagnostic tools available in the game. These are:

part not discovered
  • Tire Thread Tester: Helps check your tire wear and tear, wheel alignment, and any other wheel or tire-related problems.

  • Fuel Pressure Meter: This helps you troubleshoot any fueling-related issues such as fuel pump failure, fuel line connections, etc.

  • Electronic Multimeter: As the name suggests, this tool helps you figure out if your electronics are malfunctioning.

  • OBD Scanner: This scanner provides you with overall troubleshooting in the car and gives you a general idea of failed parts. Keep in mind that it cannot be used on older vehicles.

  • Compression Tester: This tester is used to measure any other mechanical issues present in the car.

diagnostic tools

While most issues present in the vehicle will become evident after running it through the aforementioned diagnostic tools, there is a possibility that you do not have access to these testers yet. Furthermore, if you still have the persistent “parts not discovered” message eleven after trying this, you might have to take the time-consuming route of manually examining each and every part.

examine mode

You can do this by heading into the Examination mode and hovering your reticle over the car part to identify the issue. Do note that you might also have to disassemble certain parts to get to the bottom of it. For example, if you suspect that the vehicle has a faulty gearbox, you have to remove the drive shaft, the gearbox, and the consequent parts until you get to the flywheel.

test track

Furthermore, if you find yourself with an abundance of credits, we recommend you purchase the Test Path which will make the process much faster and more efficient. Do note that you need to expand your garage to a certain level and have 10,000 credits to purchase this.

Those are pretty much all the ways you can resolve the “parts not discovered” issue in Car Mechanic Simulator 2021. Once you have gone through the initial diagnostics and the vehicle is in running order, you can drive it around the test track and do several tests to further improve its condition.
