How Tall is Tyr in God of War: Ragnarök?
It’s been over a year since God of War: Ragnarök launched as the sequel to 2018’s God of War. The Norse-inspired title follows the story of protagonist Kratos and his teenage son Atreus in ancient Scandinavia.
If you’re a long-time franchise fan, you’re probably familiar with Tyr. In the first God of War, The Norse God of War, Tyr, is mentioned quite a few times throughout the story. It’s explained that Tyr was a giant who was sealed to the door to Jotunheim, the land of giants, and was presumed to be dead. However, Tyr was found to be alive in God of War: Ragnarök, which led to players being curious about several aspects of the giant, including how tall he is.
What is Tyr’s Height in God of War: Ragnarök?
In God of War: Ragnarök, when Kratos and Atreus find out that Tyr is still alive and being held captive, the father and son duo break Tyr out of his captivity so the giant can help them take down Thor and Odin. When players first encounter Tyr, they’re just surprised at how tall Tyr is. He towers over Kratos, who is himself six feet and four inches tall!
Tyr is eight feet and five inches tall, or 256.54 cm. That’s two feet taller than Kratos. On a more surprising note, in the first installments of God of War, Kratos was portrayed as a much taller god; he was close to Tyr’s height, around seven feet and six inches tall. Kratos’ proportions were significantly changed when the Santa Monica studio team decided they wanted to opt for a more realistic approach to the character.
If you still haven’t played the God of War: Ragnarök, we won’t spoil anything regarding the nature of how players will go about teaming up with Tyr, but keep in mind that not everything is black and white in the title.
That’s everything you need to know about Tye’s height in God of War: Ragnarök. If you still haven’t played the title, it’s a good time to pick it up, as players got a new Valhalla DLC this week, and there’s a PC port on the horizon.
