Cyberpunk 2077 recently received updates that brought a slew of changes to the game’s mechanics and also added vehicular combat, a wanted rating system, and a whole bunch of other quality-of-life improvements. Although CD Projekt Red has delivered on its promise to improve the game, the studio has also added to the game’s main story with the Phantom Liberty expansion.
The expansion brought forward a new district called Dogtown along with new skill trees, side quests, gigs, etc. Although the area of Dogtown is smaller, it is densely packed with an array of activities to participate in. Here’s how you can get into this new district.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: Dogtown District
The Dogtown district in the game introduces a new faction called Barghest which is controlled by their leader, Kurt Hansen. The district is actually part of the Pacifica region of Night City and many were speculating that it would be the first area to get expanded.
Entering Dogtown does seem to be a bit of a challenge considering the fact that the area is heavily guarded by Barghest soldiers. You will need to enter the area through the EBM Petrochem Stadium. In order to sneak your way through it, you will need to trigger the quest titled Dog Eat Dog which basically acts as a compelling introduction quest to the expansion.
Once you get close to the stadium located on the south side of Pacifica, you will talk to Songbird, a potent Netrunner who will walk you through this mission and help you sneak into Dogtown. You will get to know about a backdoor to enter this district, although you still have to deal with a few enemies as you make your way through.
You have to parkour your way through while also sneaking past an overwhelming crowd of Barghest soldiers. As you continue to follow Songbird’s instructions, you will find yourself entering Dogtown through a garage door. Once you have made your way into the new district, you will immediately be put into a quest that involves climbing up a rooftop and watching a plane get shot down from the sky. After the cutscene plays you will get to see the Phantom Liberty title screen indicating that you have made your way into the region.
Can You Enter Dogtown Without the Phantom Liberty Expansion?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to enter Dogtown without purchasing the expansion. However, with the free 2.0 update, CDPR has added the entrance of the stadium which is heavily guarded and filled with a bunch of military vehicles and Barghest soldiers. If you attempt to breach this barrier, you will find yourself immediately flatlining.
