All the Skill Points (SP) gained from leveling up your character will also contribute to your weapon skills, allowing you to access new moves, upgrade its stats, and use new perks and additional Materia slots for your weapons. How Do Weapon Upgrades Work in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
Unlike FF7 Remake, Rebirth does not have an upgrade system that allows you to individually level up each of the seven weapons offered to playable characters. However, the process is made relatively easy, as the game will automatically upgrade your weapon levels as your character progresses through the game and gains SP.
To ensure you get higher amounts of SP, all you need to do is level up your characters, which means taking down as many enemies as possible and increasing your EXP, ultimately leveling up your party. Aside from completing main quests, going through Rebirth’s 30+ side quests will also provide plenty of opportunities to gain an abundance of EXP.
To keep a track of your equipment levels, you need to head to the Main Menu and select the Upgrade Weapons options. From here, you can take a look at all of the weapons you have equipped for your party along with the amount of SP required to reach the next level. Pressing X on the highlighted item will then take you to its stat screen, which wil show its exact details on attack rates, magic attack rates, acquired weapon skills, upcoming weapon skills and stat boosts, etc.
While FF7 Remake allowed players to purchase Nodes and add distinct skills to their weapons, Rebirth provides a more hassle-free approach to the weapon upgrades system by automatically providing new nodes to equip as your weapon level increases. At higher progression levels, you can even equip multiple nodes, granting several weapon skill at once.
Which Is the Best Weapon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
Considering that each character in Rebirth possesses multiple weapons and abilities, there is no decisisve answer to this question. However, it entirely depends on your individual playstyle. However, it is undeniable that late-game weapons are generally more powerful, as you will have more nodes unlocked and additional Materia slots, which will evidently enhance your damage output.
