How to Unlock The Gooch Outfit in GTA Online?
The Gooch is an outfit that makes its annual return as part of the festive random events that occur across GTA online. This outfit is inspired by the Grinch Christmas monster created by Dr. Seuss and in the world of GTA, this spawns as a random NPC who will snatch money and snacks from unsuspecting players.
This event works in a similar fashion to the mugger, who can be sent out to other players by calling Lamar. While the mugger can be deliberately called upon opponents, the Gooch event is completely random and can occur to any player in the lobby. While many players have encountered this Christmas monster in the game, you need to know that there are certain prerequisites for this event to get triggered.
Firstly, the Gooch will spawn in any type of online session you’ve created, as long as there are two players in the game. In order to trigger this event, you must be in an accessible area while you are free-roaming through Los Santos. This means that the monster will not spawn if you are undertaking a mission or if you are in interior locations such as your crib, garage, convenience stores, clothing stores, etc.
You must also have a certain amount of cash in your wallet so make sure not to stash everything into your bank account. It is also said that this creature will spawn 48 minutes into the session which is yet to be confirmed. Upon meeting these requirements, you can now encounter the Gooch while you are walking through the map or if you are parked in a specific spot.
All you need to do to unlock the outfit is to kill the Gooch after it steals your money. It usually spawns behind your back and it will knock you over while also stealing your money and any leftover snacks in the process. It will then try to run away and you can attempt to take it down however you want. The most efficient way would be to use a sniper rifle or simply run it over with your vehicle. Remember that you will have around 3 minutes to kill it before it disappears from the map with your money.
If you kill it during the first encounter, it will vanish into thin air while leaving a trail of green smoke behind. You will see a gift-wrapped box on the ground where it died, and collecting it will grant you The Gooch Outfit, the Gooch mask, along with returning all your money, snacks, and a surplus of $25,000 which is a great reward for players who are running low on cash. Furthermore, you will continue to receive this exact amount during every subsequent encounter where you find and kill the Gooch.
