It's barely been a month since the launch of Modern Warfare 3, yet Activision's 2024 Call of Duty game details have already leaked online. It seems like we're finally getting a return to Black Ops.
Although MW3 has seen some ups and downs since its release, the game has broken player engagement records and sold relatively well. The game's brief campaign caught fans off guard, but the reception to Modern Warfare'3s multiplayer was fantastic for Activision. Still, after three MW games in the past four years, fans are eager to see what's next for the franchise.
Details on the next Call of Duty 2024 game have started to slip through. While we still don't know much, details like its developer, concept art, storyline, and much more have already been spilled online.
Call of Duty 2024: Release Date
We're still a year away from the launch; it's too early for any specific release date for the game. However, if we take a look at previous launches, we can expect the game to be released in the final quarter of 2024, so it's safe to assume that the Call of Duty: 2024 game will drop sometime in the fall, most likely in October or November.
Call of Duty 2024: Possible Game Setting
Windows Central has reported that next year's Call of Duty game, currently referred to as 'Black Ops 6' and codenamed 'Cerberus' internally, will focus more on traditional military gadgets and tech, which players have seen in older Black Ops games. The upcoming Call of Duty game will tell the narrative of a Gulf War, which focuses on different factions involved in the conflict, although we still don't know which perspectives will be featured.
Call of Duty 2024: Zombie Mode Leaks
There's still nothing official from developers regarding specific modes that the next CoD game may feature. However, leaks suggest that CoD 2024 will bring back round-based Zombies mode. The Zombies' experience has been quite different in recent CoD titles, as they've ventured away from the fan-favorite round-based version.
That's not the only leak we know about. The CoD 2024 leaks hit the web in July 2022, as dataminers revealed a range of early concept art for the upcoming game. Two pieces of said concept art reveal new maps in the works for CoD 2024. The first goes by the codename 'Stealth', and the second is 'Pillage'.
Call of Duty 2024: Platforms
Ever since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, there have been doubts over the future of the CoD series, especially on PlayStation consoles. Phil Spencer has confirmed that future CoD titles will be available on PlayStation consoles. Microsoft has even signed a deal with Nintendo to launch future CoD titles on their hardware as well. We're also likely to see the CoD franchise make its way to Xbox Game Pass next year.
As a result, it's expected that the next game will drop on usual platforms, including Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
