PlateUp! Does Not Support Crossplay
As of now, PlateUp! does not support crossplay between different platforms. This means that if you're playing on Nintendo Switch, you can only connect with other Nintendo Switch players. Similarly, players on Xbox can only play with others on Xbox, and so on.
The lack of crossplay is attributed to the absence of dedicated servers for PlateUp! Instead, the game's online multiplayer mode connects through the console you're playing on. However, there is a slight exception for players on Xbox Game Pass. If you're playing on an Xbox console via Game Pass and your friend is playing the PC version through Game Pass, you can connect due to multiplayer being hosted through Xbox's servers.
Will PlateUp! Ever Support Cross-Platform Play?
While crossplay was not a main focus during the development of PlateUp! for consoles, there is a possibility that it may be introduced in the future. To play multiplayer in PlateUp!, gather your friends and follow these steps:
Select "Multiplayer" mode from the main menu.
Set up a lobby and decide if it will be invite-only or public.
Send invites to friends through the in-game system or through Steam.
Press "P" when ready for the game to start.
Friends can join mid-round during the opening phase if there's space.
Work together to manage the chaos in the kitchens, coordinate roles, communicate, and have fun!
