Cyberpunk 2077’s latest patch is almost on its way and it will be available today, the 21st September from 8 AM PDT / 8:30 PM IST. Several fans are highly anticipating its arrival as it brings significant changes to the game. The updated version will be available completely free of cost for those who have already purchased the base game. CD Projekt Red seems to have shifted its focus to the current-gen consoles and PCs which brings unfortunate news to owners of previous-gen consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Let’s take a look at these changes.
Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Early Patch Notes
As mentioned above, the game is available completely for free for those who have already purchased the base game. Although the complete patch notes have not yet been officially released, we saw several posts from the developer on X, regarding the changes that will be brought to the game. Here are the early patch notes:
Redesigned skill trees and perks
Revamped cyberware and new capacity system.
Vehicle combat and car chases
Combat AI improvements
New police system
UI and UX developments
Loot, Item, and crafting changes
New radio stations (including Community Radio Station Growl FM)
You will notice that these changes provide significant improvements from the base game. The redesigned skill trees come with a new progression system that adds classes such as Shinobi, Headhunter, Netrunner, Solo, and Engineer. Revamped cyberware means you can install more of them now, but you are limited to a maximum carrying capacity. Also, keep in mind that installing numerous cyberwares increases the chances of you getting Cyberpsychosis. This was first showcased in the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime and has made its way into the game.
The added vehicular combat and car chases certainly sound enticing. You can now find cars with mounted guns, some of which can be purchased through computer terminals located around the city. The revamped police system means you have to battle it out with elite MaxTac officers when you reach the highest wanted level. The police also respond faster to your shenanigans.
Clothing has also become more of a cosmetic-only option as they lose their armor ratings. You can access armor through a new cyberware category. The game also allows you to pet random cats on the street which was not possible before. The game also features several quality-of-life updates such as adding radio stations, new UI, Improved AI combats, and so on.
