The upcoming Call of Duty game for the 2023 year is reportedly a recreation of Modern Warfare 3. As rumors and leaks run rampant, there is also the question of whether players can transfer their COD points from Modern Warfare 2 to the upcoming title. COD points are considered to be the lifeline of the COD games as they are the main form of currency that can be used to purchase several in-game cosmetics and battle passes along with new operators as well.
How Do COD Points Work?
COD points are the main currency used for buying several in-game items like the game’s battle pass, weapon skins, attachments, and cosmetic items like character and weapon skins. They can also be used to unlock new operators. If you find yourself running short on COD points, you can also purchase them through the game’s franchise store or through the store present on your respective platforms like the PlayStation Store, Xbox store, etc.
There is no limit to the number of COD points one can purchase. These points can be used for purchasing a host of different in-game items excluding individual digital items(they can only be purchased as part of a bundle).
Can You Transfer Your COD Points From MW2 to MW3?
Long story short, yes you can transfer your COD points across different COD games. However, there is also a limitation present for it. You are not allowed to transfer COD points across different platforms like Xbox to Playstation or PlayStation to PC. COD points can only be transferred over as long as you stick to a single Activision account.
Players who are upgrading to the next console generation such as from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 or from Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S can still expect to see all of their COD points, their game progress, and their in-game purchases get transferred over to the newer console.
