Many of us grew up in the Call of Duty’s golden age, and getting to the campaign in the game was the first thing we did. The CoD titles were known for setting the trend in the industry, as every other developer tried to recreate the franchise’s success.

One of the most iconic Calls of Duty characters was Raul Menendez, a villain who played a crucial role in the series. You could even play as him for one of the missions. Although he was a villain, the performance behind the characters made him one of the most liked villains in the franchise.

Call of Duty Actor Died at Age 56 After a Battle With Cancer

According to Hollywod Reporter, actor Kamar de Los Reyes passed away on Christmas Eve. The actor was 56 years old and died after a “brief battle” with cancer.

Born on 8th November 1967, the actor played Raul Menendez in Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Before the game’s launch, he called it one of the best projects he has ever worked on. He reprised his role in Call of Duty: Black Ops IV and Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Kamar de los Reyes has been involved in many projects besides Call of Duty. Whether it was his iconic role as Antonio Vega in “One Life to Live” or various other soap opera appearances, he was a known name in various genres.

In a time when using motion capture for characters and getting Hollywood actors for game development, Reyes stood out as one of the first characters to make a long-lasting impression with their performance. The way he brought Menendez to life still holds up today.

Considering that the character came back in Black Ops 4 and was mentioned in Cold War, fans were hoping to see if his character could make a return in future CoD games. However, players now want his performance to be as it is rather than trying to bring back the character somehow.
