Assassin’s Creed: Mirage Story

Assassin's Creed Mirage is set in 9th century Baghdad during the Anarchy at Samarra, and follows Basim Ibn Ishaq, a street thief who joins the Assassin Brotherhood, a secret organization dedicated to fighting for peace and freedom against the Templar Order, who seek peace through control.

The story begins with Basim living in the city of Anbar with his friend Nehal. For all of his life, Basim has been haunted by visions of a monstrous jinn. After an act of deadly retribution, Basim flees Baghdad and joins the Hidden Ones, the precursor to the Assassin Brotherhood.

Under the tutelage of his mentor Roshan, Basim learns the mysterious rituals and powerful tenets of the Hidden Ones. He hones his unique abilities, discovers his true nature, and comes to understand the Creed that will change his fate in ways he never could have imagined.

As Basim progresses in his training, he becomes embroiled in a conflict between the Hidden Ones and the Order of the Ancients, a precursor to the Templar Order. He must use his newfound skills to unravel the Order's secrets and protect the Hidden Ones from their machinations.

Throughout his journey, Basim struggles to come to terms with his past and his visions of the jinn. He must also learn to trust his fellow Hidden Ones and embrace the Creed that he has sworn to uphold.

Mirage is a coming-of-age story about Basim's transformation from a street thief to a fully-fledged member of the Assassin Brotherhood. It is also a story about finding one's place in the world and embracing one's true nature.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage Ending Explained

Basim, defying Roshan's orders, embarked on a journey with Nehal towards Alamut. When they arrived at the fortress, they were met with a grim sight - it had already fallen to the forces of the Order. Undeterred, Basim rallied the surviving Hidden Ones and launched a daring counterattack. Their determination paid off as they managed to drive the enemy forces back, gaining access to the temple entrance.

Inside the temple, a profound revelation awaited Basim. He discovered a stasis pod containing a being of great importance - one of the First Ones. It was in this moment that he realized the truth: Nehal was not a real person but a manifestation of his repressed memories, and the haunting jinni was a part of him, a link to his true identity as Loki.

With newfound clarity, Basim made a momentous decision. He chose to merge with Nehal, fully embracing his identity and unlocking his lost memories. As he emerged from the temple, Basim was greeted with open arms by the Hidden Ones, his return a symbol of hope and strength.

However, this reconciliation came at a cost. Roshan, unable to accept Basim's transformation, resigned from his position in protest. Basim, now fully aware of his role as a reincarnation of Loki, looked to the future with a sense of purpose. He knew that his rebirth marked the beginning of a new chapter, one that would lead him to confront those responsible for his long imprisonment.
