Highlights
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is relatively smaller than the previous entries in the franchise, both in terms of its campaign and its map size.
A New Game Plus mode typically allows players to retain their stats, gear, and other skills while significantly bumping up the game’s difficulty to balance it out.
AC Mirage is available on a variety of platforms such as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Amazon Luna.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage has finally been released on an array of platforms and several fans are overjoyed to get their hands on the game. With this latest release, Ubisoft has attempted the series back to its roots by focusing more on stealth and parkour elements and by creating a relatively linear narrative rather than the open-world RPG elements from previous entries.

To aptly match the story, the game is set in the city of Baghdad featuring several districts and historical places such as the House of Wisdom. Considering the fact that this title is significantly smaller than the previous installments, in terms of both sheer size and the story, many players were wondering if the game offered a New Game+ mode which would allow you to experience it again by retaining your skills and progress. Let’s go ahead and take a look.

What Is a New Game Plus Mode and How Does It Work?

A New Game Plus mode allows you to re-experience the game’s main narrative but with added challenges and obstacles to further enhance replayability. This feature is being added to most of the new and upcoming games that are mainly story-driven.

In most cases, players will get to keep their inventory, skills, and other unlocked items which will only be available at the later stage of the game. This apparent buff is balanced out by the increase in difficulty from the previous run.

Does Assassin’s Creed Mirage Feature New Game Plus?

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has not added the New Game Plus mode to AC Mirage. While this is certainly disappointing news, it is important to remember that the previous AC Valhalla also lacked this feature. Initially, AC Mirage was only supposed to be an expansion to Valhalla’s massive open-world but the devs decided to develop the project into a title that pays homage to the earlier entries in the franchise. It is still a poor choice considering the fact that the added element of replayability would have really worked here, as Mirage’s main campaign is fairly short.

Is There a Possibility That the New Game Plus Mode Will Eventually Be Added to AC Mirage?

As mentioned above, AC Mirage is considerably smaller than the previous entries in the franchise. The New Game+ mode was last featured in AC Origins and Odyssey and several fans expected the feature to make its way to Valhalla, which sadly did not happen. Taking this into consideration, it is highly unlikely that we will get to see this feature brought into Mirage.
