During the Ubisoft Forward event back in September 2022, the studio announced several interesting projects that would be a part of the popular Assassin’s Creed Franchise. These are Hexe, Codename Red, and another title for mobile platforms titled Jade. while not much is known about the other two titles, the studio has revealed quite a bit about AC Jade, starting with the fact that it will bring the full Assassin’s Creed experience over to your Android and iOS devices. Without further ado, let’s take a look at everything that has been unveiled so far.
When Does Assassin’s Creed Jade Release?
As of now, there is no official release date for AC Jade. However, the game just had its first closed beta program that sent out 5,000 invites for gamers to try it out. Although the first closed beta has finished, Ubisoft unveiled a new gameplay trailer that not only showcased the game but also announced that the second close beta program will be arriving soon. You are free to register for the game at the official Assassin’s Creed Jade Website.
Assassin’s Creed Jade Setting
AC Jade is set in the third century BCE, right after the Warring States period and the unification of China under the Qin dynasty, where you will get to experience a unique multi-ethnic feudal state. The game is chronologically set between the time period of AC Odyssey and AC Origins.
Andrei Chan, the executive producer at Level Infinite says that players get to witness a very exciting part of Chinese History. He says "This is the establishment of essentially the first empire of China. It was also a time when the connection between China and the rest of the world was stronger than ever."
Assassin’s Creed Jade Gameplay Features
Being an open-world Assassin’s Creed game, Jade will also feature similar elements to previous entries in the franchise where you are free to run, jump, and climb your way up most buildings and walls. The gameplay trailer also showcased the parkour elements and various assassination moves. We also witnessed viewpoints, which means you can continue to leap off tall buildings into a haystack. We can also expect to see eagle vision, although we are not sure how intuitive it would be on a mobile device.
Andrei Chan says that the goal of the team is to provide an authentic Assasin’s Creed experience on mobile. "we are very proud of what we have already," says Chan. He also adds, "Fans can expect all the iconic features - assassinations, air assassinations, stealth, parkour, combat mechanics - and we're keeping it narrative-driven."
