Is EA Sports FC 24 Free to Play?

EA Sports FC 24 is set to release in late September and fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment of the football video game franchise. This edition is the first to come out since EA decided to break away from the FIFA franchise. Despite the rebranding, the franchise will retain its licenses of more than 19,000 players, over 700 teams, over 100 stadiums, and over 30 leagues. The title includes a number of improvements on features existing in FIFA 23 including HyperMotion V, and new AcceleRATE 2.0 system, both of which improve graphics and gameplay. While EA Sports FC 24 will be available on platforms like the PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, crossplay will be limited. With so much hype surrounding the game and given the break away from FIFA, fans are left wondering if EA will follow other developers' footsteps and make EA Sports FC 24 free-to-play.

Is EA Sports FC 24 free to play?

Unfortunately, the developer has not decided to make EA Sports FC 24 free to play. EA FC 24 is set to come out in two editions; Standard and Ultimate. The Standard edition will set you back $69.99 (£69.99) while the Ultimate Edition is on offer for $99.99 (£99.99). While EA Games has made older sports franchise titles like Madden NFL 21 free-to-play for a limited period, new releases have never been free-to-play. 

Both EA FC 24 Standard and Ultimate editions have common features like Dual Entitlement, Ultimate Team Cover Star 10 game Loan, two Ambassador 5-game Loan Player Pick Items, a Clubs unlocked PlayStyles Slot, additional Player Career Personality Points and one Manager Career 5-Star Coach available for hire. The Ultimate Edition will offer players early access, FC Points and certain pre-order bonuses.

The game is available for pre-order on Steam, Windows and Epic Games on the PC. If you are an EA Play member you are eligible for a 10% discount when you purchase EA FC 24. Pre-orders for EA FC 24 began on 13th July 2023 with the game scheduled to release on 29th September 2023.
