The newly rebranded EA Sports FC 24 is bringing in a host of new changes and improvements to FC 24 while also trying to stick true to its roots. The reveal trailer that was released on 13th July showcased several new features and overhauls to the FrostBite engine that powers EA Sports FC 24. There was also the inclusion of PlayStyles and SAPIEN tech from the Madden games that promises to drastically improve the visuals and mechanics of the game, allowing for a realistic and authentic FIFA experience. But one place where EA is doing a complete overhaul is with the Pro Clubs mode. The game mode is being rebranded to ‘Clubs’ and if you are wondering how the new mode works, here’s what you need to know.
EA Sports FC 24 Pro Clubs
The Pro Clubs mode in FIFA allows players to create a customized avatar with their own stats and abilities. Players can use these avatars to play with their friends and against other players in competitive mode. The main difference with the Pro Clubs mode is that players only need to control a single footballer rather than having to take control of the whole team which is the case in other game modes. Pro Clubs is a rather relaxed way to play FIFA when you compare it with other game modes like Ultimate Team and Career mode which can get quite intense.
With EA Sports FC 24, the Pro Clubs game mode is being rebranded to Clubs. Along with this renaming, EA has also added the long-awaited crossplay function to the game. In a recent blog post, EA confirmed that crossplay is coming to several game modes like Clubs, Co-op Season, Ultimate Team Co-op, etc. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can now play cross-platform. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users are put in a separate cross-platform lobby. Unfortunately, there is no cross-platform feature available for the Nintendo Switch which is probably a thorough decision by EA, considering its hardware limitations and unique controls.
The blog post by EA shows us a comprehensive breakdown of the crossplay functionality which will really come in handy if you are setting up crossplay for the first time. Clubs will also have EA’s new and improved Trait system which will allow for further customizations to your in-game avatar.
EA Sports FC 24 also carries over VOLTA FOOTBALL from FIFA 23, which is an arcade game mode that allows 5v5 gameplay on a smaller pitch, paying homage to the FIFA Street games. VOLTA will also get crossplay functionality which means you can duke it out with your mates and show off the skills and unique abilities of your custom avatar. EA Sports FC 24 will be available to purchase on 29th September. Here’s how you can pre-order it.
