How to Get Baleful Fragments in Diablo 4

Baleful Framents are rare loot earned by salvaging Legendary Weapons in Diablo 4. This is more of an end-game content item, making it more difficult to obtain at first. If the player is granted Baleful Fragments early in the game, consider keeping them until they are needed later. More Baleful Fragments will be available as players progress and locate Legendary Farming Spots, unlocking more end-game goodies.

Legendary weapons in Diablo 4 are difficult to get. They do, however, require special artifacts to be upgraded, most notably Baleful Fragments. These uncommon items will assist you in leveling up your Legendary gear. But first, you'll need to figure out how to get them.

Where to find Baleful Fragments in Diablo 4

Baleful Fragments are items obtained by salvaging Legendary weapons with item power 400 or above. Only Legendary Weapons drop Baleful Fragments when recovered; armor or jewels do not drop this material.

So, if you require a lot of Baleful Fragments, there are a few options. Although Legendary items can be found in most game content, the following strategies will save you time if you're specifically seeking Legendary weaponry.

Helltide

One of the finest places to find Legendary items is during the Helltide world event. These events can be found in World Tier 3 and above, however, they are not always active. You will have one hour to join once they begin. Killing foes in the area during a Helltide will cause them to drop Aberrant Cinders, which you can then spend to open Tortured Gifts scattered throughout the landscape.

Tree of Whispers

The Tree of Whispers has a similar system where you can choose a reward of a specific sort of gear, although it takes a little longer to acquire the reward. Grim Favours can be obtained by completing specific tasks all across the world. When you have 10 Grim Favours, return to the Tree of Whispers and choose one of three caches, each of which contains a different type of gear.

Murmuring Obols Merchant

Murmuring Obols are a special currency that are earned mainly from random World Events. Upon completing these short activities, you'll earn a varying number of Murmuring Obols.

After you've collected some Obols, you can return to any major town and spend them at the Curiosity Vendor. If you're just looking for Baleful Fragments, choose any of the weapon options. It's not guaranteed you'll get a Legendary weapon by doing this, but the chances are pretty good, and you can earn Obols while completing other content like Helltides or Tree of Whispers.

Any Baleful Fragment components you have obtained via salvaging legendary weapons can be used in one of two ways. You have two options: go to the blacksmith to get the finishing touches on your heaviest gear, or go to the occultist to imprint your favourite Diablo 4 Aspects using your Baleful Fragment.
