Diablo 4 is now live for players who purchased the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game. The new action RPG features mounts that you can use to traverse the game world, making exploration a lot faster. You can get a mount in Diablo 4 but you need to complete a pre-requisite quest to obtain it once you are deep in the campaign. Here is a quick guide on how to get a mount in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4: How to unlock a mount
To obtain your first mount, you need to complete the Donan’s Favor quest at the beginning of Act 4. You have to clear Act 1, 2 and 3 without using a mount which can be frustrating if you need to travel long distances.
If you want to speed up the process of getting a mount, you can skip side quests and all non-campaign content so you can reach Act 4 sooner. Having access to a mount speeds up exploration significantly and you will be able to use your mount via a Stable Master. To quickly locate a Stable Master, you can click on the Horse icon under the Services menu when you are in a city/town.
Diablo 4: How to obtain and use additional mounts
Your first horse is free and you can get more mounts later in the game. Once you locate a Stable Master in a city/town, you can get your first horse and change its appearance to your liking. You can purchase additional horses from a Stable Master with in-game currency.
All mounts are the same and are meant to be cosmetic. There are no gameplay advantages when using specific mounts over other ones so you can just choose whichever mount looks the best to you.
You can check the in-game controls to see what the summon button is for your mount. You can summon your mount anywhere in the open world but once you dismount, there is a 10-second cooldown before you can summon your mount again.
