You must spend your Cinders on chests that appear at random on the map. Each box costs 75-175 Cinders, and you may customize your chances of acquiring the type of high-tier loot you want by choosing which chests you open.

Cinder Farming: Tips and Tricks
By taking advantage of loading zones we can make Cinders spawn faster and give you more control over the enemies you hunt or the events you’re completing. Because Helltides always appear in random locations, we can’t give you an exact location — but we can explain how to choose your own location.
You'll need to locate an event activity in order to farm Cinders. An orange circle on the map indicates the location of a global event, making it simple to identify. These provide a steady supply of cinders. Additionally, you should look for events that are somewhat close to a neighboring zone, cellar, or stronghold.
This method will only work with solo farmers. Parties will keep the same instance unless you literally leave the area. This may work when using the cellar or town portal method.
Cinder Farming | Resetting Events Method:
Look for an event with a loading barrier nearby. Named zones, cellars, strongholds, or anything that connects two areas will work.
The event will be restarted if you pass through the identified region (a name will appear on your hud) or enter or exit a fortress or cellar.
Cinder Farming | Alternate Method:
You can check your map and look for 2-3 events clustered near each other. You can easily travel to each event, complete it, then travel to the next. By the time you’re finished, one of the events will reset.
It is advised to double-up on your legendary gear farming by tackling world bosses and Whispers of the Tree tasks. To obtain the greatest rewards, you should aim for Mystery Chests, the locations for which you can find in our Mystery Chest Locations guide. Players should also aim for events with the highest density of Elite Mobs.
