The Reject the Mother quest in Diablo 4 is a side quest found in Diablo 4 that can be completed by heading to the Dry Steppes. Reject the Mother is pretty simple but may not be intuitive to some. Unlike other quests where most of the action comes from taking out enemies, it requires you to perform the right kind of emote in a given location. Unlocking this quest requires you to grind through the main story quest line and ideally this should be done once you’ve obtained a horse. Completing it will get you some extra Renown, which will help you get some additional skill points and increase the maximum number of Healing Potions you can carry. Here is how to do the Reject the Mother quest in Diablo 4.
Steps to complete Diablo 4 Reject the Mother quest
The Reject the Mother quest in Diablo 4 can be started by heading towards the Tusmaa Rift in Dry Steppes. Note that it is recommended that your character is at least at level 25 before you pick up this quest and that you finish the main campaign quest Whittling Sanity in Act 3. This will open up the north side of the Tusmaa Rift which you will need to access the area. Once you’re in the Abahru Canyon region of the Dry Steppes, head to this location roughly in the middle of the region:
The first step in completing Reject the Mother in Diablo 4 is to look for the blue exclamation point on the map and head towards it. You will find a torn note that has been trampled into the dirt that reads, “Shout your rejection, "no Mother of mine" at her towering statue in rift's hidden shrine”. You can find this note even if you’re not doing the quest but it will not count towards Reject the Mother till the quest marker comes up. Once the quest starts, make your way towards the second marked location on the map. You’ll find it on the north side, near Ked Bardu, next to the Dark Ravine dungeon entrance.
The second marker comes with instructions to “Reject Lilith at her secret shrine”. Once you make your way towards the secret shrine, stand in front of the Lilith statue and emote ‘No’.
This will cause the Heretic’s Cache to appear on the right. The cache comes with good loot including XP, items and some Renown. And that’s all you need to know about completing the Reject the Mother side quest in Diablo 4.
