The fourth iteration of Diablo has been released after much anticipation. While players, old and new, enjoy all that the hit action RPG franchise has to offer, some struggle with figuring out how to do certain tasks like the Lost Legacy side quest in Diablo 4. While it can seem confusing for newer players, the quest is not one of the most difficult ones offered to you in Sanctuary. Simply follow the guide and you’ll be able to complete the lost legacy side quest in Diablo 4 with ease.  

How to Complete the Lost Legacy Side Quest in Diablo 4

Your quest begins with Ksenia and finding the source of corruption within Sealed Quarters. You will need to speak to Ksenia on a couple of occasions during this quest. Here is a detailed rundown of all the quest objectives you need to complete. 

1. Speak with Ksenia inside the fort - You’ll need to speak with Ksenia, the Zakarum Crusader, who can be found in the Ruins of the Rakhat Keep. 

Completing the Lost Legacy Side Quest in Diablo 4 requires you to speak to Ksenia multiple times.

2. Join Ksenia inside the Sealed Quarters - You’ll need to enter the Defiled Halls and Ksenia will follow you after briefly wandering off. 

3. Find the source of corruption in the Sealed Quarters - Travel into the Halls dungeon. 

4. Read the Urgent Letter - Look for the Urgent Letter in the middle of the hall.

5. Inspect Paladin remains - Inspect Paladin Mathias’ remains in the room you come upon.

6. Defeat Mathias, Corrupted Paladin - Kill the ghost of Mathias which appears.

7. Speak to Ksenia - A door behind you will unseal and you’ll be prompted to collect more items.

8. Collect Mathias’ Betrayal - Click on Mathias’ Betrayal that drops when his ghost is defeated.

9. Collect Eleazar’s Choice - You’ll need to travel further inside the Defiled Halls to find this. Take the first right upon entering the halls and follow the path till the end where you will have to find and defeat Carthas. You’ll need to fight the ghost that appears before you can collect Eleazar’s Choice.

10. Collect Alodia’s Wrath - When you enter the Defiled Halls, walk straight ahead till you reach the end. Here you’ll find Alodia’s remains. Like with the others, fight her ghost and she will drop the item you need.

11. Search for Curse’s Root - From the entrance of Defiled Halls, take the first left and follow the path till the end to find Carthas Demise.  

12. Place the Cursed Blades for Ksenia’s Ritual - Place the 3 cursed blades on the markers located on the floor, next to Carthas’ remains. 

You'll need to place three cursed blades on the markers.

13. Speak to Ksenia to begin the ritual.

14. Defeat Carthas, Corrupted Paladin - Once you initiate the ritual with Ksenia, Carthas, the Corrupted Zakarum Paladin boss, will spawn. Defeat him.

15. Speak with Ksenia - this final step will complete the quest. 

Once you follow these steps, you’ll receive the following rewards: 

  • 20 Hawezar Renown

  • 33,920 XP

  • 2400 Gold

  • +1 Paragon Point
