League of Legends is an online MOBA and like any online service, can suffer from server connection failures and other issues. If you have trouble logging into your game client or have high ping (ms) during your match, check League of Legends server status, as server outages can be one of the reasons. While previously there was no way of knowing about server outages from Riot’s side, independent websites like the Downdetector could help players check League of Legends server status. Eventually, Riot decided to set up a dedicated page (https://status.riotgames.com/) which players can go to and check League of Legends server status and report any issues.
