Facebook Gaming is all set to host a virtual tennis tournament between tennis pros and celebrities on Sunday, 3rd May. This tournament is aiming to raise $1 million to be donated to various organisations. This comes as an effort to fund the global fight against COVID-19. The entire tournament will be streamed online.

Facebook Gaming announced the tournament on Twitter saying, “The #StayAtHomeSlam is part of #PlayApartTogether, a gaming industry initiative to help people stay safe, informed and connected through games.” Each competitor will receive a $25K donation to the charity of their choice - with our ultimate winners donating $1M to charity!

Each tennis pro is paired up with a celebrity. Serena Williams will play Gigi Hadid, Venus Williams will go against NFL star DeAndre Hopkins. Maria Sharapova will face supermodel Karlie Kloss. Naomi Osaka will play Hailey Beiber. Kei Nishikori will face DJ Steve Aoki. Taylor Fritz will play Addison Rae and Madison Keys will play against British musician Seal. 

Commentary for the tournament will be done by tennis legend John McEnroe and YouTube personality iJustine. Taylor Fritz and Maria Sharapova shared the excitement about the upcoming virtual tennis tournament on their respective social media handles. Supermodel Gigi Hadid has already started practicing for the tournament. You can stream the tournament at 8:00 pm GMT
