Epic Games just announced Rocket League Live, which is a strange but cool new way to watch Rocket League Esports. You will now be able to watch Rocket League matches within Fortnite. With the Rocket League Winter Major finals set to take place on 27th March, Fortnite players can tune in to the matches from the popular battle royale by Epic Games. To watch Rocket League Live, players simply need to log in to Fortnite and head inside the Legendary Champions Field.

How Does Rocket League Live Work?

Fortnite players who want to view the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) - Winter Major from the Legendary Champions Field can do so in-game from the main menu. When you enter the Champions Field, you will need to choose a team to support and you can also play mini-games in the area while you watch the games. All participating teams have a “boost meter” that can be filled up by supporters to unlock items and abilities. The Champions Arena was designed by Fortnite Creators 404FNC and FiveWalnut.

The Winter Major is not the only event that can be viewed within Fortnite. Players will be able to watch matches from future Rocket League Championship events this season as well while also getting multiple opportunities to unlock limited-time items.

Rocket League Championship Series 2022 - Winter Major Overview

The ongoing Winter Major is the first Rocket League LAN event since the Season 8 World Championship. With the global pandemic slowly easing, fans will be excited to see live events make a return in the world of Rocket League Esports.

This season has introduced the most major changes yet to the RLCS system with more regions and an updated format. The event now has three splits which include - Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each split has its respective regional event leading into an international major.

During each of the majors, teams collect points that will determine whether they will qualify for the World Championship or World Championship Wildcard. The ongoing Winter Major is one of the biggest events of the year with a prize pool of $300,000 USD.

If you want to catch the event outside Fortnite, you can head to the official Twitch channel here.
