Controller player for DetonatioN FocusMe, xnfri, talks about his new role and playstyle in the team.
Xnfri mentions that while playing the role of a controller he hopes to be a more aggressive player who takes a lot of risks.
So far, DFM has not won a single series and will be going up against Team Secret during the fourth week of the regular season.

Japanese esports organization, DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM), assembled its current Valorant roster in October 2022, bringing together an international lineup consisting of six players - two from South Korea and four from Japan.

One of the top players signed by DFM was Tomoki "xnfri" Moriya, who recently spoke about his change in role and playstyle with the team, in a video released by Valorant Champions Tour Pacific.

The 24-year-old who hails from Japan mentioned that he was very excited and proud to represent one of the ten partner teams from the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Further revealing that though there is a lot of pressure with only two teams from Japan in the league, he wants to perform well for his country and the Pacific region.

Xnfri breaks down his new role in DetonatioN FocusMe: "I need to do well for my country"

The controller player for DFM, xnfri had to make a lot of adjustments for his new role on the team. While he has started playing with Omen and Harbor, nothing seems to be completely set in stone for now.

"I'm on a new role starting from this team. I hope I can be a more aggressive player taking a lot of risks because I think as a controller player it feels like you have to play more passively, but at the same time, having that aggressive style can really take a toll on the enemy and pressure them," said xnfri, while speaking about his evolved playstyle in DFM.

In the three matches played by DFM at the Pacific League till now, xnfri has played three agents - Omen, Harbor, and Brimstone, staying committed to his role as a controller.

Also, the aggressive mindset he has been talking about seems to be working. He dropped an ACS (Average Combot Score) of 183 against Gen.G Esports and seems to be among the top fraggers for his side more often than not.

Unfortunately, DFM has not found any success, winning just one map and losing all three matches. Maybe this will change in the fourth week of the VCT Pacific League, as it prepares to go against Team Secret on 23rd April.
