The League of Legends esports offseason has picked up pace around the world.
Many organizations and players are busy announcing their move for the upcoming 2024 season.
In one such power move, LCK team KT Rolster announced the signing of Worlds 2022 winners Pyosik and Deft.

League of Legends Worlds 2022 was iconic in its own way. A fourth seed team has never won Worlds and yet DRX rewrote League of Legends Esports history in 2022 by hoisting the Summoner's Cup, completing its underdog story.

However, weeks after winning the Worlds 2022 Summoner's Cup by defeating T1 3-2, four members of the DRX roster, including jungler Hong "Pyosik" Chang-hyun and attack damage carry (ADC) Kim "Deft" Hyeok-gyu, parted ways and went to different teams.

Now, on 25th November, Korean esports organization KT Rolster announced the signing of jungler Pyosik and ADC Deft for the 2024 season of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK).

With this, the Worlds 2022-winning duo have been reunited once again.

KT Rolster Signs Pyosik & Deft for LCK 2024 Season

Amidst the onset of the stove league, which commenced just a couple of days after T1 lifted the fourth World Championship, many organizations and players have been announcing their strategic moves for the upcoming season and contract details.

KT Rolster, which is one of the ten teams participating in the LCK 2024 season, also made some significant changes to its team in the off-season.

Firstly, on 21st November, the day most of the contracts expired, KT Rolster announced the free agency of the following players:

  • Kim "Kiin" Ki-in: Top

  • Mun "Cuzz" U-chan: Jungle

  • Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram: ADC

  • Son "Lehends" Si-woo: Support

Only its mid-laner Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong was initially retained on the team since last year, his contract was extended till November 2024.

Following this, on 25th November, KT Rolster took to social media to announce the signing of Deft and Pyosik.

Notably, this is not Deft's first time on KT Rolster. The ADC star played for this organization between 2016 and 2018, after which he moved to a team called Kingzone DragonX.

Currently, the KT Rolster roster for 2024 is as follows:

  • Jungle: Pyosik

  • Mid: Bdd

  • ADC: Deft

The organization is yet to announce its top laner and support player.

2023 was a big year for the Korean league in League of Legends esports. The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) proved to be the best region for the second year in running as T1 lifted the trophy on home soil. Korea also had a solid performance at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) where the region finished third.

It is safe to say that going into the 2024 season of League of Legends esports, the LCK will be a definite favorite. The LPL (League of Legends Pro League) and the LCK are the heavyweights of the League of Legends esports scene and the LCK has collectively won eight titles.
