Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is headed into its third season with a number of changes including updates to the ranked system, new guns and a brand new operator Kevin Durant. There are also new features coming to the game like the Gulag Entry Kit, Deployable Buy Stations and a new DMZ experience Koschei Complex. Here are all the important features coming to Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded.
Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded release date
Activision confirmed the official Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded release date as 10th May 2023. The season 3 battle pass shows that the season will continue till 14th June 2023.
New features
There are the three new features coming to Warzone 2 in Season 3 Reloaded:
Players will find Perk Packages in Supply Boxes and Buy Stations. These will be a valuable addition for players who haven’t called in their Loadout Drop yet.
Deployable Buy Stations will assist players in stocking up on valuable tools without having to reposition to a traditional Buy Station.
The Gulag Entry Kit will give Warzone 2 players another shot at a Gulag fight after they fought their way out of it once before.
Two pistols and a throwing star
This season of Warzone 2 is bringing two new pistols to the game, namely the FTAC Siege and the GS Magna.
The FTAC Siege is a highly customizable, fully automatic machine pistol with a full suite of new attachments. While it cannot be dual wielded like other sidearms, its gunsmithing options include drum magazines, numerous barrels, SMG grade stocks, and muzzles from the SMG pool of attachments. Although it cannot be a true substitute to a Primary SMG, the FTAC Siege is great for close-quarters combat.
The GS Magna is built for damage. This weapon uses the exact same cartridge and most attachments as the semi-automatic .50 GS, including the ability to go akimbo and take out enemies at close-range. However, the power spike is compensated by some pretty serious recoil.
You can unlock the FTAC Siege by getting 50 sidearm hipfire Operator kills using Handguns. Unlocking the GS Magna will require you to get 30 headshot Operator kills using the .50 GS.
Players were first introduced to the Throwing Star on Resurgence during Season 02. Now this lethal equipment will be available for all. The Throwing Star requires a quick double tap to kill, or one well-placed star to the head. Enemies hit will also get a wounding effect on all non-lethal impacts, giving a greater chance of success on a follow up hit. You can unlock it by getting 50 kills using a Throwing Knife.
Ranked Play update
Activision has also confirmed that Warzone 2’s Ranked Play beta is launching at the start of Season 3 Reloaded on 10th May 2023. The mode will feature, “competitive settings, a progressive rank system, a visual skill system, and seasonal rewards,” according to the developer. Players will begin their ranked journey in Bronze at the start of the season and will have to work to earn SR (Skill Rating).
Bronze: 0–899 SR
Silver: 900–2,099 SR
Gold: 2,100–3,599 SR
Platinum: 3,600–5,399 SR
Diamond: 5,400–7,499 SR
Crimson: 7,500–9,999 SR
Iridescent: 10,000 SR minimum
Top 250: 10,000+ SR
The SR you earn during every match will be based on overall match performance and will take into account your placement, assists and eliminations. Activision noted that Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 have their own rank progression system.
Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded DMZ Koschei Complex
Players will get the chance to experience the new DMZ gameplay in Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded called Koschei Complex. According to the Activision blog, “Somewhere in Al Mazrah, an underground Koschei Complex is brewing something that could shift the entire DMZ as we know it.” Not much else is currently known about the Koschei Complex but players can expect a real challenge.
