VCT China 2024 Stage 1 and Stage 2: Teams, Groups, Dates, Format, More

The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) China 2024 Regular Season will be the first of its kind for the region comprising of two regional Valorant tournaments, VCT China 2024 Stage 1 and VCT China 2024 Stage 2, scheduled to start right after VCT Masters Madrid 2024.

EDward Gaming and FunPlus Phoenix are the two representatives from China that will compete in this tournament following their fantastic run in VCT China Kickoff 2024.

If one of them wins, the team will be crowned as the first international Valorant champion of 2024, bag three valuable VCT Points, and walk away with the lion's share of the total prize pool.

VCT China 2024 Stage 1 and Stage 2: Complete Details

VCT China 2024 Stage 1 will be the second time this year that all partner teams from the region would take on each other with the top three qualifying for VCT Masters Shanghai 2024.

This will be followed by VCT China 2024 Stage 2 where regional teams will clash once again to grab one of the three slots available for Valorant Champions 2024.

VCT China 2024 Stage 1: Teams and Groups

A total of 11 partnered Valorant teams from China will be competing in this regional tournament, doubling up as the qualifier for VCT Masters Shanghai 2024.

These teams have been divided into two groups Alpha and Omega, the former containing five while the latter contains six.

VCT China 2024 Stage 1: Dates and Schedule

The tournament will run offline in a studio environment from 5^th April 2024, Friday to 12^th May 2024, Sunday at Valo Arena in Shanghai, China.

It consists of two parts, Group Stage and Playoffs, where the journey starts with 11 teams but only six make it to the next stage and only the top three qualify.

Group Stage: 5^th Apr, Fri to 5^th May, Sun

• The two groups will follow a single round-robin format.

• The twist is that cross-group matches will be played.

• Every match will be a best-of-three series.

• The winners of both groups will directly qualify for the Upper Bracket Semifinals.

• The remaining two teams from both groups will qualify for the Upper Bracket Semifinals.

Playoffs: 8^th May, Wed to 12^th May, Sun

• The six qualified teams will follow a double-elimination bracket with opening matches being an exception.

• All matches will be best-of-three series except for the Lower bracket Final and Grand Final which will be best-of-five series.

• The top three teams will qualify for VCT Masters Shanghai 2024.

A total of 11 partnered Valorant teams from China will be competing in this regional tournament, doubling up as the qualifier for Valorant Champions 2024.

These teams will also be divided into two groups Alpha and Omega, the former containing five while the latter contains six, similar to how they were distributed last time.

VCT China 2024 Stage 2: Dates and Schedule

The tournament will run offline in a studio environment from 15^th June 2024, Saturday to 21^st July 2024, Sunday at Valo Arena in Shanghai, China.

It consists of two parts, Group Stage and Playoffs, where the journey starts with 11 teams but only six make it to the next stage and only the top three qualify.

Group Stage: 15^th Jun, Sat to 7^th Jul, Sun

• The two groups will follow a single round-robin format.

• Unlike the last stage, this time inter-group matches will be played.

• Every match will be a best-of-three series.

• After all matches are played, overall scores from the previous and current stages will be considered to find the top six teams.

• The winners of both groups will directly qualify for the Upper Bracket Semifinals.

• The remaining two teams from both groups will qualify for the Upper Bracket Semifinals.

Playoffs: 17^th Jul, Wed to 21^st Jul, Sun

• The six qualified teams will follow a double-elimination bracket with opening matches being an exception.

• All matches will be best-of-three series except for the Lower bracket Final and Grand Final which will be best-of-five series.

• The top three teams will qualify for Valorant Champions 2024.

In addition to the teams that take the top three spots in VCT China 2024 Stage 2, another fourth team from the region will also qualify for the world championship based on points rewarded throughout the season to top-performing teams.

All non-qualifying teams will be taken into consideration which means a consistent performance throughout the competitive calendar could be another way to reach the world championship and compete against some of the best Valorant teams.
