Valorant Episode 7 Preview: Everything we know so far

Valorant Episode 7 - Team Deathmatch

There had been an ongoing rumor about the addition of a Team Deathmatch game mode to Valorant for quite some time now. This has turned into reality and will be released along with Episode 7.

This will be a fast-paced game mode, allowing tactical gunplay with all available weapons, agents, and even their abilities. The best part is that it will be played on custom maps made specifically for the game mode, which has allegedly been named HURM.

Valorant Episode 7 - New Agent Teaser

Information about upcoming agents was also released by Anna Donlon Executive Producer and Dev Team Lead on Valorant. She revealed that two new agents will be introduced to the game before the end of 2023, the first being a Sentinel while the second will be a Duelist.

Talking about the upcoming Sentinel, Donlon said that this agent is someone who will "stop you dead in your tracks and pull you in for a closer look."

In the teaser snippet, the agent wearing gloves can be seen standing in front of a workbench with some tools on it including a screwdriver, various lenses, a tablet, and some documents. Along with this, there is even a hot beverage to one side along with something to eat.

It does not give a lot of information away about who this agent could be, where they might hail from, what abilities might they have, and all other things that everyone is excited to learn about.

As for the second agent, all we know at this point in time is that it will be a Duelist and will be released later this year.

Valorant Episode 7 - All Other Changes

More updates about what we might witness in the upcoming Episode 7 were provided by Andy Ho, Game Director of Valorant.

Valorant Premier

Talking about Premier, Andy reveals that one last global test will be conducted in July before its eventual launch in August right after the Valorant Champions 2023.

Progression System Change

Andy also mentions that the progression system in Valorant is about to undergo some big changes.

According to popular leaker Mike, a new currency system could be headed Valorant's way which could be used to progress through agent contracts, unlock things from previous battle passes, purchase skins exclusive to that currency, and more.

More details about these changes will be announced soon as developers delve deeper to properly explain each point mentioned above.

Apart from all this, it was also mentioned that Riot Games is finally gearing up to launch Valorant in China, launching the game's open beta in the country very soon.

Also, similar to how Gecko and Premier were announced during the VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo, players might be in for a surprise or two during the Valorant Champions 2023, which will be held in Los Angeles - Gecko and Riot's home turf.
