Valorant Episode 4: Valorant Has Finally Revealed the First Glimpse of the Long-Awaited Yoru Rework

Cover-Credits:
Valorant has finally revealed the first glimpse of the long-waited Yoru rework which is scheduled to go live soon. When Yoru launched there was a lot of excitement surrounding him but he never quite broke into the meta. Riot Games decided to fully rework him and after months of delays, the long-awaited Yoru rework is coming to Valorant in Episode 4.
How is Yoru’s kit changing in Valorant Episode 4?
According to Riot Games’ design philosophy, duelists need to offer something unique to the field. They also need to have a strong baseline value that any team at any round can rely on in order to maintain strong viability on any team composition. Yoru failed to deliver on all those fronts and his rework should bring him in line with player expectations.
Here is a look at what is changing about the agent’s kit in the future:
Fakeout
The ability currently directionally mimics the sound of Yoru’s footsteps to mislead enemies. After the rework, the ability will generate clones of Yoru and when shot at, the clones look at the direction of the person that fired the shot and flashes towards their position in a conal direction.
Gatecrash
Gatecrash is not being tweaked in Valorant Episode 4. There will be some visual updates but the ability will continue to function like it does in the current version of the game.
Dimensional Rift
Here are all of the changes that are coming to Yoru’s ultimate ability in Valorant Episode 4.
Yoru is no longer revealed to enemies
Yoru is able to cast all utility while in Dimensional Drift
Enemies can hear Yoru’s footsteps
Nearsighted is removed
Unequip delay time is increased slightly
Cast delay added when casting Dimensional Drift, preventing the invulnerability frame on cast.
When is Yoru’s rework coming to Valorant?
Riot Games has not confirmed when the rework will be coming to Valorant. All we know for now is that it will come sometime during Episode 4, which is already ongoing. The developers are still finalizing the changes that will be made to his kit and all of the revealed information is still subject to change until the rework hits the live servers.
Riot Games wanted to fix some of the unintended play patterns that have shown up in-game, and instead are going to give Yoru the tools to gain ground on enemies using stealth and initiate the rest of his team to follow.
