Kyedae will be undergoing treatment “very soon” and the community poured in their best wishes for her speedy recovery. What is Acute Myeloid Leukemia

According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), AML is a type of blood and bone marrow cancer that can be lethal. Around 60% to 70% adults diagnosed with AML can be cured after induction therapy through immediate treatment.

There have been 20,380 cases of AML and 11,310 deaths in the United States in 2023 already. The NCI states, “Remission rates in adult AML are inversely related to age, with an expected remission rate of more than 65% for those younger than 60 years. Data suggests that once attained, duration of remission may be shorter in older patients. Increased morbidity and mortality during induction appear to be directly related to age.”

Valorant community shows support for Kyedae

Kyedae is one of the biggest personalities within the Valorant community. She received support from other members of the Valorant community. Esports organizations Sentinels, 100 Thieves, Cloud9, NRG Team Dignitas and others showed support.

Twitch also took notice and wished her a speedy recovery.

If Kyedae completes her treatment successfully, she will still need to undergo active testing until she is declared cancer-free. The esports community at large is by her side and we at AFK Gaming too wish her a successful treatment and quick recovery.
